March Trip to Peru

DAY 1 - Mar/24:

Departure U.S./Lima Upon arrival transfer to the hotel in Lima, O'N

DAY 2 - Mar/25:

Mar/25: Transfer hotel/airport, flight Lim/Puerto Maldonado approximately 10.00 AM.

DAY 2 - Mar/25: MONKEY ISLAND

You arrive at Puerto Maldonado, the biodiversity capital of Peru. After a reception at the airport, you will ride to the city center by bus. You will depart from port and travel down the Madre de Dios River. During the trip you will see caimans, turtles, herons and other species of animals along the riverbanks.

When you arrive at the ECOAMAZONIA LODGE, you will be served an exquisite welcome drink, after which you will have time to settle in to your bungalows and eat lunch. In the afternoon, with our specialized guide, you will visit Monkey Island, which is only 5 minutes from the Lodge. During your hike through the island you will observe extraordinary scenery and lively flora that shelters a tremendous variety of monkeys in their natural habitat, such as the Black Spider Monkey, Capuchin Monkey y, Tamarins, Squirrel Monkey, and the South American Coati, as well as a number of bird species. You will complete your visit to Monkey Island by enjoying the sunset, and then returning to the Lodge for dinner.

DAY 3 - Mar/26: LOST COCHA

After breakfast you begin your guided adventure through the virgin rainforest on foot to the Lost Cocha. The Lost Cocha is a protected ecosystem sustaining an immense variety of animals such as giant otters, caimans, turtles, Brazilian tapirs "sachavacas", colorful birds, the majestic jaguar, and diverse fish species. This area is a unique part of the Ecoamazonia Reserve, because its immense swamps and marshes still remain fully intact today. Later, you will arrive at our extraordinary Amazon Watch Tower, built at the top of an immense tree (the Shihuahuaco) from which you can appreciate the full and magical beauty of the rainforest. You will also go for a pleasant canoe ride around the lake, after which you will return to the Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon there is another canoe trip down the river to visit a local family living in the rainforest. Finally, you will return to the Lodge for dinner.

DAY 3: LAKE APU VICTOR SECOND TOUR PM.

You will wake up to the beautiful songs of birds, and after breakfast you will begin your hike into the depths of the Amazon Rainforest via specially prepared trails and bridges. During the walk you will see the Cave of the Caimans. Continuing on, you will arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Victor – a lake of crystalline waters surrounded by immense swamps and gigantic trees. Later on you will climb to the top of our Amazon Watch Tower, where you can enjoy the panorama of the lake and the multitude of birds and animals – parrots, macaws, toucans, horned screamers, hoatzins, and herons, as well as other animals such as caimans and turtles. If you’re lucky the giant otter will make a rare appearance. In the afternoon, you will return to the Lodge for lunch, and then take a canoe trip down the river to visit to a local family living in the rainforest. Finally, you will return to the Lodge for dinner.

DAY 04 - Mar/27:

Breakfast. Transfer to the Puerto Maldonado airport.

DAY 4 - Mar/27:

We arrive to Cusco and transfer to the hotel. Immediately we'll be leaving to Chinchero Market, then to Pisac Market and ruins in the Urubamba valley.

DAY 5 - Mar/28:

Visit to Ollantaytambo ruins and the circular terraces of Moray, salt mines of Maras if there is time, lunch.

DAY 6 - Mar/29:

Transfer from the hotel to Ollantaytambo to take the train to Machu Picchu, visit and guided tour to the Inca city with our Shaman guide Willaru, later in the afternoon back to Aguas Calientes and O'N, meals B.

DAY 7- Mar/30:

Bus early in the morning to the ruins, hike to the Huayna Picchu mountain, to the Sun gate or Inti Punku, and explore the Inca city with our Shaman guide Willaru, later in the afternoon we'll take the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. O'N Cusco, meals B

DAY 8 - Mar/31:

After breakfast around 10.00 AM Tour to the ruins near by Cusco, Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Puca-Pucara, Tambomochay, and also visit to the Qoricancha or Temple of The Sun with Willaru, this is half day tour, so the rest of the day you'll have free to explore the city, shop, etc.

DAY 9 - Apr/01:

We'll take a private car to go to Puno, and in the way visit to Raqchi, Sillustani, and other locations with Willaru.

DAY 10-Apr/02:

Tour to Uros and Taquile islands, with Willaru.
O'N Puno, meals B,L.

DAY 11-Apr/03:

Tour to Chucuito to visit the Temple of Fertility and after The Dimensional Door of Amaru Meru with Willaru, later in the afternoon we'll be transferred to the airport in Juliaca and take the flight Jul/Lim. Transfer to the hotel.
O'N Lima, B,L.

DAY 12-Apr/04:

Free day or if the flight departs later at night I can arrange a city tour, and after the tour you'll be transferred to the airport on time to take your flight back home.
